Diode lasers for femtosecond applications and Terahertz technology

Semiconductor lasers are attractive for multiple applications. This is due to their compactness and low cost in comparison to other laser systems. After briefly summarising our research activities on semiconductor diode lasers, we address two research areas in more detail. First, we show the development of mode-locked diode lasers for two-photon microscopy, two- photon polymerisation and for time-domain Terahertz spectroscopy. Finally, we discuss the development of diode laser systems for compact continuous-wave Terahertz systems.
