[Article] In-plane reorientation induced single laser pulse magnetization reversal

Sous titre
Single laser pulse magnetization reversal in rare earth and transition metal-based multilayers

Résumé

In this study, it has been demonstrated that single laser-pulse switching of magnetization can be achieved for a wide range of rare earth and transition metal multilayers, making this phenomenon much more general. At high laser intensities, concentric ring domain structures are induced. Alongside the demonstration of an in-plane reorientation of the magnetisation, a precessional reversal mechanism explains all the observed features.
