Butsurin JINNAI: Ultra-small magnetic tunnel junction for fast STT switching

Summary :
We show ultra-small magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) designed for fast spin-transfer torque (STT) switching. By introducing a new multilayered ferromagnetic structure in the MTJs, a characteristic relaxation time, which governs STT switching in precessional regime, can be engineered. This enables fast STT switching beyond 10 ns in sub-5-nm MTJs.
