Abstract

The group has demonstrated a versatile strategy to engineer smart theranostic nanocarriers. Core/shell nanosystem composed of a superparamagnetic iron oxide (Fe3−δO4) nanoparticle on which P(MEO2MAx-OEGMA100−x) copolymer was grown from the surface. The grafting of Folic acid (FA) at the polymer chain end lead to provide an efficient active targeting of NPs to cancer cells. The control of the drug loading an release of the nano-object was assessed and full drug (100%) is released after 52 h at 41 °C. Moreover this work found that P(MEO2MA60-OEGMA40) polymers lead to a surface that exhibits interesting stealth behavior against Human Serum Albumin and Fibrinogen model proteins.
