ECUME (Interactions of Electric CUrrents and Microstructures Evolutions)

Abstract

This project explores the coupling between electric fields and phase transformations in metallic alloys.
Its objective is to build a modeling framework at the microstructure scale following the phase field approach.
This approach will be applied to two complementary cases for which detailed experiments will be performed on simple metallic alloys:
- monitoring of phase transformations by electrical resistivity
- transformation of microstructures by application of intense electric currents.
