MagNet (Magnetometry Network)

Abstract

Within EIT Raw Materials, during three years MagNet consortium worked at growing a mixed public-private European community in the field of magnetometry and promoted collaborations between universities, research institutions and companies to optimize the practices of each center, to increase the knowledge and expertise of each center, to coordinate new technical developments and improve the accessibility of its platforms to private partners, and to future young scientists. The consortium of 14 partners (including Universities,  research institutions, R&D institutions, and 2 companies in 8 countries) worked at a magnetometry network of infrastructure. We organized a unique highlighted contact point for European private partners to get magnetometry measurement service and R&D collaborations, through the website www.Magnetometry.eu.

The first phase of the project was devoted to the development of shared procedures to allow the consortium replying to customers’ requests and/or identified customers’ needs (proactive approach) while defining the MagNet services offer (catalogue). Then a market positioning and marketing phases (including market analysis, benchmarking and communication activities) occurred which allowed to increase the number of industrial partners among the community and check the efficiency of the procedures. Every year since 2019, MagNet consortium has assisted more than 5 Entrepreneurs, 20 Industrial users and 75 Academic users, through R&D activities, measurement services and teaching/training activities.
