PLUS (Ultrafast laser pulse for information storage)
Abstract
PLUS project studies the mechanisms of ultrafast magnetization reversal (at the femtosecond scale) of a magnetic nanostructure (magnetic layer, pad, etc.), either under the direct action of a pulse femtosecond laser, or under the action of an electron pulse. This basic research project focuses on the identification of materials and processes that will eventually make it possible to offer a magnetic information storage technology with increased writing speed (by a factor of 1000) and lower energy consumption.
