DEMETER (Development of abundant element materials for the energy transition)

Abstract

The objective of the DEMETER project is to use the complementary deposition techniques of the two partners to produce an all-oxide photovoltaic cell. The semiconductor layers constituting the cell being different, the combination of several processing techniques is essential to make and optimize the cell. The key to building the cell is mastering the interfaces. This particularly delicate step will be facilitated by the use of the TUBE equipment at IJL which has many in situ analysis techniques. The morphological, structural and electronic properties will be studied and optimized. A prototype cell with a surface area of several square centimeters is expected.
